Commercial laundry Equipment Running Costs

Laundry Running CostsThe on-going running cost of the commercial laundry equipment you choose is the most important factor when considering your purchase but one that is frequently overlooked. This is often because other companies have only one make of machine to offer so do not mention it as theirs does not compare favourably to other makes and models.

At Maxwell Adam we can offer most makes and types of machine, many have been discarded from our range because of the high water and utility use. Here are some facts and figures that might surprise you.

An Electrolux 10kg washing machine uses 109 litres of water per load in a 60 degree wash. Compared to a popular but less efficient machine available this is a saving of 67 litres per load. If the machine is used 8 times a day this equates to an 8 year saving of 1,565,120 litres of water. The cost of this water at current rates is in the region of £3000.

It doesn’t stop there; if the machine uses 40% less water then it uses 40% less electricity to heat the water. Also less water in the wash cycle means less detergent is required to reach the correct dilution. The bottom line is this, you may see a machine that looks cheap, the fact is that the £500 you may save in upfront cost can be lost in the first 6 months of ownership.

When we see a client we will let them know how much their current laundry operation is costing, we will then recommend the machinery that will drastically reduce their utility and detergent bills.
